Dust space and remove cobwebs.
Hello, guysss. Oh gawd,😩 I don't even know exactly how to put this, but I know my coming here is to apologize for the very long break which happened between April last year till now.
Believe me, it wasn't intentional. My IT came with a lot of physical stress so much that I got back to school very lean in September. Till now, I'm still trying to gain back the lost flesh. So, on most days after work, I got back home so exhausted that my brain would just go blank and dazzit. But this year, I'm not going to leave you hanging. Whether exhausted or not, I'd keep you updated as often as I can. I hope I'm forgiven? Thank you. 🤗
So yeah, in one word, how was last year? For me, last year was a roller-coaster. Phew! A lot happened. It started fairly well, till the third half of the year when I got my second paying job, moved gradually to my phone getting spoilt a week into the job. Then, I had to lend a phone from a friend, promised to return it after a week because I was hoping to get one of the 'Easybuy' phones. Well, I returned the phone after a month and went offline because I couldn't raise the money to get a new phone. In the middle of all that, my school accommodation issue came up and I had to start looking for money again. Double Wàhálà. 😩 😹
You're asking about my job? Well, I guess I lost it because, after I returned the phone, I updated my boss about it, hoping he could help, but unfortunately, nothing came up. So, I worked only for a month.
Long story cut short, one of my girl-friends gifted me a phone, and I was able to raise fund to sort out my accommodation issue after squatting with my friend for about 2 weeks after resumption. It was one of my darkest period that I don't ever wants to go back to.
All of these, coupled with school work spanned through August till December when we protested over school fees issue in my school and we were sent home. So, here we are. Home and hoping we resume this month. I kent wait to graduate. 😩 😪
Meanwhile, I have a very strong feeling that this year would be a very great one. And about new year resolutions, please do not overwhelm yourself by yourself. Breathe and find your balance before putting down those stuff you want to do.
Can you really achieve all of that 20 goals? Have you broken them down into smaller parts? What are the possible hindrances? Resources needed to achieve them? Need a team, internship, online courses, paid classes? List them all out. Break them into days, weeks and months.
In fact, you may not really need to set all of that goals for this year. Don't choke the year.😒 Kindly flip back your journal and see things you said you'd do the previous years but you couldn't, and try to include those in your new year resolutions.
More so, set out by doing the most important and urgent which is/are crucial to your career path. Then, gradually move to the important but not urgent ones till you reach the least of your goals.
Finally, be intentional about your friendships, communities, relationships and all possible circles that would influence you and your mental health.
Take break in-between works. Enjoy when you can but not at the expense of your goals and career. Spend wisely and take your savings serious. Take measures against repeating mistakes you made last year. Document often. Journal, visit and revisit them. You should either review monthly, or quarterly. This would help keep you in check and determine if you've not loose guard. Read books too. It sharpens your brain, soul, body and spirit.
And that's it! Phew, feels good to be back☺️
Lots of love😘🤗
